The William Hinton Rum from Madeira - 9 Months, resulted from the combination of spirits carefully selected in their nobility and unquestionable quality.
Of prolonged fermentation, and aged in oak casks for 9 months and, previously, with Rum 6 Years.
William Hinton rum has been carefully aged for a minimum of 6 years in French oak barrels. The final blend results from a second aging by one more in several barrels with different origins, among which, Madeira Wine. The result is a distinct and complex rum.
TASTING: On the nose, we are faced with an immediately very open profile, rather vegetal, with a gently spicy woody note reminiscent of aged cachaças. The cane is sweet and honeyed, it is even flavored with a few gourmet touches of sweet almond. Time will tend to assert the woodiness, in a register typical of old Madeira rums made of blond tobacco, black tea and yeast. We perceive the elegance of a cherry stone, as well as a still very tender cane, preserved by its solid oak case.
The palate is smooth, discreet at first, and very tasty afterwards. The greedy woodiness envelops the mouth with a vanilla cotton soaked in tea, soft cane, brioche and tobacco. The pepper keeps the pleasure a bit, then the wood gets older and darker. The finish offers a caramelized oaky maple syrup, with vanilla and a slightly sweet sensation.
