ABOUT QUINTA DO MONTE D'OIRO - RESERVE ORGANIC PORTUGUESE WHITE WINE
Quinta do Monte d'Oiro has been known for its privileged terroir since the 19th century, and is situated in the wine region of Lisbon, in the municipality of Alenquer. Since the Quinta is only 20 kilometers from the sea, the clay-limestone soils and the Mediterranean microclimate with a strong Atlantic influence allow the grapes to ripen slowly and fully; it also allows the aromas of the grape varieties to be preserved, as well as moderate alcohol content, soft tannins, and good aging ability.
The winemaking processes are smooth and precise in the cellar, with the wine aged in the finest French oak barrels.
Since the first vintage, in 1997, the Quinta's wines have received numerous awards and distinctions both in Portugal and abroad, such as the 8 «Awards of Excellence» of Revista de Vinhos; the 15 wines elected «The Best of the Year» by the critic João Paulo Martins, the 30 wines classified in the «Top» of Wine magazine, the «Best Wine of the Iberian Peninsula», or the more than 60 classifications by Robert Parker in the restricted category of 90-95 points - 'outstanding'.
