ABOUT FERREIRA DONA ANTONIA 20 YEARS AGED PORT WINE

Established in 1751 by a winemaking family with vineyards in the Douro Region, Ferreira rose to prominence under the leadership of Dona Antonia A. Ferreira (1811-1896). A legendary figure in the history of Port Wine. Produced from carefully selected grapes grown in the Douro demarcated Region, Dona Antonia 20 yeas old Tawny is the result of a blend of selected wines aged in oak casksfor an average period of 20 years.

TASTING FERREIRA DONA ANTONIA 20 YEARS AGED PORT WINE

This wine has intense aroma with all the characteristics of well balanced ageing in wood. In the mouth it is a full-bodied, delicate, soft, velvety and lingering wine. In spite of its age, it has a well-balanced freshness, a consequence of the refreshing with younger wines carried out through its maturation

This Porto is a sophisticated aperitif that pairs well with a variety of rich appetizers, including foie gras, intense cheese pies, savory dumplings, and seafood. It goes well with desserts such as caramel cream, apple pie with walnuts, or even fresh peaches.

The grapes were hand-picked and vinified according to the traditional Porto wine method. Fermentation was controlled in stainless steel vats and stopped with the addition of wine alcohol. Aged: 20 years in casks
